Oxford, the geographical and cultural heart of England, is one of the world’s most beautiful cities.
Almost every afternoon and evening is open for exploring the “city of dreaming spires”: the famous colleges and chapels, the Covered Market, the meadows and parks, the boathouses and punts along the Isis, and, of course, the pubs.
There is hardly a famous British king, prime minister, writer, poet, musician, or scientist who hasn’t been involved with Oxford in some way or other over the last thousand years. In your wanderings you could include the haunts of Lord Peter Wimsey or his successor, Inspector Morse. Lord Peter Wimsey, C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien . Their favourite pub, The Eagle and Child, awaits your visiting memorial toast .
We'll take a day each week for bus trips. Previous tours have included London, Gloucester, Salisbury, Winchester, Cambridge & Bath.

Heritage Canada and The National Trust Properties
in the UK
Heritage Canada is an organization whose mandate it is to “encourage the preservation and demonstration of the nationally significant, historical, architectural and scenic heritage of Canada with a view to stimulating and promoting the interest of the people of Canada in that heritage”. What has that to do with England, you might ask? If you purchase a membership in Heritage Canada for $35., your Membership Card admits you to all National Trust properties in England, Scotland and Wales. This is significant if you plan to visit 2 or more venues as the admission rate to many of these properties is in the range of 7 to 8 pounds with no concessions given. To contact Heritage Canada you can visit their website at www.heritagecanada.org or call them at 613 237 1066 or email them at heritagecanada@heritagecanada.org. Just for comparison’s sake, the annual membership in the National Trust is close to 35 POUNDS per year.

This year marks a change in our living quarters. No longer will Jowett Walk be our home. We will now take up residence right in Balliol College in student rooms in 'staircases'. Most rooms are ensuite, and are a set made up of two rooms. The twin accommodations will feature a bed in each room.
There will be no kitchen available to us but each room will be equipped with tea-making facilities. We will take our Full-Board meals, Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner on most days in the Hall at Balliol. Note that on the middle weekend, only Breakfast will be available.
On the day of arrival, we will have a welcome reception for "meeting and greeting", then the evening meal in the Hall, followed by one of Tim's now famous Walking Tours and perhaps a pub visit for those who are still awake!
